This workshop will introduce you to the subtle art of layering, playing with light, darkness and texture, to create stunning backgrounds, on which you’ll later paint the flowers of your choice. You will also discover how to build a personal way of rendering flowers, and experiment with white ink detailing to add depth and contrast to your paintings.
Led by visual artist and Monash University design teacher, Sofie Dieu, this workshop also includes tips for composition, archival arts, and how to create in series while remaining creative and avoiding repetitiveness.
Suitable for all levels, this workshop focuses on Australian native plants from Victoria that are edible and have medicinal properties.
A list of materials will be provided to all registrants; morning tea provided, BYO lunch.
